AUSTIN DISASTER RELIEF NETWORK “SERVE SATURDAY” WILL HELP RESIDENTS WITH CLEAN UP ASSISTANCE TOMORROW

Austin, Texas, March 25, 2022 – Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) churches will gather teams for a “Serve Saturday” tomorrow to help residents clean up after this week’s tornadoes. ADRN volunteers, church members, and community members will gather at the Success High School (500 Gattis School Rd, Round Rock, TX 78664) to organize into teams and then fan out into impacted communities. Teams will help clear away fallen trees and debris from damaged houses to help homeowners recover from the outbreak of tornadoes that devastated local communities. People age-12 and older who’d like to join the effort can come to Success High School at 8 am on Saturday morning, March 26. Volunteers need to wear close-toed shoes, long pants, and bring work gloves if possible. Mercy Chefs will provide lunch for work crews, and water will be available, though we recommend individuals bring water bottles as well.

Residents who need clean up assistance either tomorrow or in the days and weeks to come can sign up for help by calling the ADRN Disaster Survivor Hotline at 512-806-0800.

DONATIONS OF FUNDS AND SURVIVOR CARE KITS

ADRN asks the Central Texas community to assemble and donate Survivor Care Kits, and bring them to the Hope Family Thrift Store (HFTS) for distribution. HFTS will collect these kits from 10 am – 5 pm Monday through Saturday. Details for how to assemble kits are available on ADRN’s Central Texas Tornadoes Disaster Response Page at adrn.org/ctxtornadoes.

ADRN has also launched the Central Texas Tornadoes Disaster Relief Fund to resource both short- and longterm needs for tornado survivors. Visit donate.adrn.org/ctxtornadoes to make a donation.
