Austin Disaster Relief Network: Positions for Hire

Part-Time Disaster Relief Project Coordinator

Job Description: Disaster Relief Project Coordinator (Part-Time; 20 Hours)

Position:
Reporting to the Disaster Relief Shepherd Coordinator (DRSC), the Disaster Relief Project Coordinator (DRPC) serves as a key member of ADRN’s disaster response team. The DRPC’s main objective is to ensure that every family affected by disaster is sponsored by a church on the network and their emotional, spiritual, physical needs are met in a timely manner. Other job functions include:

Responsibilities:
• Assign Disaster Relief Shepherds to families requesting a shepherd, assigning highest most urgent needs first
• Ensure that disaster expenses due not exceed disaster funds
• Manage and oversee family sponsorship intake forms
• Manage and oversee data entry of family intake forms
• Manage, assign and oversee priority status of incoming Family intake forms
• Maintain a survivor spreadsheet of every case you are working on, on a daily basis
• Communicate to church leadership, Disaster Relief Coordinators and Disaster Relief Lead Shepherds about families being sponsored by their church
• Maintain contact with church leadership, DRC’s, lead DRS’s and DRS’s (when no church leadership in place) regarding sponsored family needs, current disaster resources, and changes in disaster relief efforts
• Provide family casework management for families being sponsored from disaster
• Participate in Long Term Recovery Teams, case work teams and unmet needs committees
• Attend and participate in Long Term Recovery team meetings
• Respond to call center inquiries pertaining to families being sponsored
• Attend ADRN staff meetings and core team meetings (upon Executive Director request)
• Work with local officials and other disaster relief agencies responding to disaster
• Establish policies and procedures when necessary during disaster efforts
• Communicate with ADRN staff about disaster efforts, needs and plan of action regarding family sponsorship and their needs
• Approve and submit financial requests for payment to ADRN Accounting Team regarding sponsored families needs

Organizational Expectations of Staff:
• Follow organizational policy, procedures and practice culture of honor with one another
• Communicates clearly with peers, co-workers, and team members
• Sets the tone on reliability, attendance, high performance standards and what it means to be a Ready Christian, emotionally, spiritually and physically for staff, Core Team, churches on the network and volunteers
• Spends minimally half a day (planned) per month, away from the office, seeking God’s face for direction, guidance, support and relief for role. Spends time in the word and prayer with God for spiritual instruction, growth and rest
• Completes all of ADRN’s emotional, spiritual and physical trainings to understand the depth of what ADRN offers churches and volunteers.
• Minimum of 20 hours per week, must have flexibility in nights and weekends during times of disaster.

Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence, encourage and engage potential volunteers to become a DRS or join the DRS Core Team and build long-term relationships
• Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Some event planning and event coordination skills
• Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical DRS Program development initiatives
• Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of ADRN
• High energy, love and passion for God and His mission through ADRN is essential
• Ability to construct, articulate, and implement annual strategic DRS development plan
• Kingdom minded and relationship focused
• A professional and resourceful style of leadership; takes initiative and can manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
• Experience supervising personnel, volunteers, including training, assigning and reviewing work, leadership development and conducting performance evaluations if needed
• Strong interpersonal, active listening, conflict resolution and facilitation skills

Part-Time WordPress Position - RESPOND BY APRIL 15th

JOB TITLE: WordPress Site Administrator

Seeking WordPress Administrator/Developer who can work independently along with multiple teams to deliver working solutions to our high-traffic production environment.

We are looking for an individual that is innovative and resourceful, making the most impact with the least amount of resources. This WordPress Administrator will be working in partnership with our lead WordPress developer.

Our ideal candidate should be a self-starter and capable of starting their own project or picking up a project immediately. He or she will possess an ability to work without close supervision and will also have excellent problem solving skills,an innate appreciation for fine details and the ability to set and maintain a production schedule within budget.

Typical duties of this position include:
• Working with our lead developers, IT manager and project manager
• Administering a WordPressMultisite network
• Troubleshooting and debugging WordPress multisite themes and plugins
• Managing Multisite issues around security and scalability functionality and performance
• Managing shopping cart solutions with WordPress, WooCommerce, SSL certificates and POS integration from 3rd party providers
• Managing and supporting Learning Management System (LMS)
• Acts as a liaison for internal customers and external clients to identify business requirements, opportunities for improved functionality, and user satisfaction
• Resolves site and user issues and implements security protocols and backup processes
• Assuring the proper display of data for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborating with design, strategy and sales teams to define website define and implement website solutions — must be an excellent communicator and collaborator
• Translating client feature requests into WordPress development specs
• Working with project managers and teams to develop accurate Time lines and estimates
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and outside developers to complete projects.
• Maintaining site performance optimization and caching
• Participating in regular company-wide and team meetings
• Aid IT manager, project manager and others in requirements gathering, web project planning, and general technical questions.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with good time management skills.
• Contributing to “scope of build” conversations with development team, project managers, designers, and other developers.

Candidates that are able to demonstrate their programming capabilities with code samples and a portfolio will be preferred.

Skills & Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess the following technical skills necessary to succeed in the position:
• 2-4 Years Experience Working with WordPress at a PHP7 code level
• Experience with WordPress Network Mode (multisite)
• Knowledge of existing in-built WordPress functions
• Creation of custom post types
• Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards
• Experience with Gravity Forms
• Integrating feeds from social networks
• Integrating with third-party REST APIs (e.g. YouTube and GovDelivery)
• Troubleshooting browser compatibility issues

Videographer/Video Specialist

JOB TITLE: Videographer/Video Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), a non-profit organization comprised of churches, ministries and businesses within the Christian community of Greater Austin to form a disaster relief alliance to help those in need in times of disaster, seeks a Videographer/Video Specialist to be based in Austin, Texas. The Videographer/Video Specialist will serve as ADRN’s photographer/videographer to capture, direct, edit, and produce videos for both internal and external purposes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Capture studio-quality video both on location and in the office as projects dictate.
• Shoot and edit content to build a library of About ADRN videos, training videos, interview videos and/or survivor story videos.
• Lead all technical setup for shoots, including lighting, angle, placement and type of microphone, and positioning of individuals on camera (if appropriate).
• Collaborate regularly with creative teammates, marketing teammates, and senior management.
• Develop an intimate understanding of our brand message and tone to accurately capture in video and photo form.
Other: Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
• Experience in TV/film, Internet Video or other role operating video and editing equipment
• Great creative eye for visualizing and shooting concepts effectively
• Proficient in Adobe After Effects. Knowledge of motion graphics is preferred
• Owns quality equipment and software (preferred)
• Experience with YouTube and Vimeo

• Availability to travel in the greater Austin Area (5 counties) and outside of Austin, in the event of a disaster

Volunteer Development Manager

JOB TITLE: Volunteer Development Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), a non-profit organization comprised of churches, ministries and businesses within the Christian community of Greater Austin to form a disaster relief alliance to help those in need in times of disaster, seeks a Volunteer Development Manager to be based in Austin, Texas. The Volunteer Development Manager will play a key role in supporting ADRN’s expanding volunteer recruitment, retention, maintenance, engagement and deployment program in the Central Texas region. The Volunteer Development Manager manages volunteer resources assisting in the delivery of ADRN’s programs and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communication: Serves as a point of contact for phone calls, electronic communications and requests from staff, volunteers, Volunteer Core Team and the general public for ADRN’s volunteer efforts. Investigates and responds to volunteer inquiries and volunteer relations issues. Attends and/or leads volunteer-related meetings and drafts volunteer related correspondence and communications on behalf of the ADRN management team.

Volunteer Development: Recruit and develop a Volunteer Core Team. Recruit, assess, train and provide on-going support to volunteers. Work with partner organizations to recruit, train and manage volunteers. Establish volunteer key requirements for various volunteer categories. Establish and implement volunteer retention program. Provide ADRN leadership with volunteer metrics and reporting. Increase volunteer engagement both in and out of disasters. Provide input in the IT Strategic Planning process to capture volunteer activity and level/s more accurately, reduce duplicative information requirements and assist in streamlining the volunteer intake experience. Coordinate with database personnel to better utilize and create data files and reports that better serve the volunteer recruitment, training and engagement process. Further develop the volunteer rewards, motivation and recognition program. Establish goals and objectives to increase and better utilize the existing volunteer base, expand training levels and actual engagement. Establish an evaluation system to better serve and improve the volunteer experience. Develop a screening protocol to ensure volunteer giftings, skills and interests are maximized.

Volunteer Deployment: Develop and implement a deployment availability identification system to eliminate unnecessary and unwanted requests for deployment for a disaster and to produce a “most likely” available targeted list in each volunteer categories including but not limited to CERT, CISM, FAST, General, etc. Coordinate with Safety to evaluate risks associated with each deployment assignments. Coordinate with IT Staff to automate volunteer check-in, recordation and evaluation.

Other: Performs other duties as assigned, such as the development and launching of ADRN’s Missionary, Retiree and Intern program by utilizing ADRN’s volunteer database to fill important positions within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in volunteer management, relational and/or business development or related field required or an Associate’s degree and 4 years of relational and/or business development experience can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities and meet deadlines, with minimal supervision is required
• Demonstrates flexibility to changing situations and priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to proof and edit documents
• Experience planning and coordinating projects and meetings
• Event planning experience
• Experience supervising and recruiting volunteers
• Demonstrated ability to professionally represent ADRN to donors, Board of Directors and the public
• Ease in using a wide variety of office software
• Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data
• Experience using Donor Perfect or another CRM system a plus
• Knowledge of trends, resources and information related to volunteerism
• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

This position has been classified as a missionary position. By that, we mean the candidate has to raise their support as all missionaries do. We have training tools to help the candidate in the support raising process. In short, this is a position where the candidate must know they are called to it.
