In the early morning hours of August 24, a fire sparked at the 16-unit Sonora Apartment Complex on Sam Rayburn Drive in North Austin. More than 50 residents have been displaced and early reports indicated that 12 units were destroyed in the blaze.
ADRN is coordinating with the American Red Cross and other officials to support residents impacted by this disaster. Our neighbors will need short-term emergency supplies as well as long-term support to recover and replace what they’ve lost.

Our region remains unusually hot and dry, making the danger of fires like the Sonora Apartment Fire and wildfires extremely high. If a fire sparks near your home, you and your family may need to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
We strongly recommend that you prepare Grab & Go Bags for each family member as well as have a Family Evacuation Plan in place. Download free checklists for both of these today.
