Sonora Apartment Fire Update

Austin, Texas, August 25, 2023 – On Saturday, Austin Disaster Relief Network will hold a Survivor Intake Center for people displaced by yesterday’s fire at the Sonora Apartments in North Austin. ADRN volunteers and staff will offer emergency support, including hygiene kits, Survivor Care Kits, Hope Family Thrift Store vouchers for clothing and household items, and emergency funds in the form of gift cards. Our trained volunteers will also provide much-needed emotional and spiritual care for these families, many of whom have lost everything overnight. Survivors will also have the opportunity to receive long-term care and support through ADRN’s Disaster Relief Shepherding Program.

The Survivor Intake Center will take place on Saturday, August 25 at ADRN Headquarters, 13801 Burnet Rd, #100, Austin, TX 78727 from 10 AM to 1:45 PM. Media representatives are welcome outside of ADRN Headquarters, and requests for interviews should be directed to Kat Cannon, ADRN Public Information Officer, 512-336-7535.

We encourage the public to support ADRN’s disaster response efforts, such as the Sonora Apartment Fire and others, with financial donations at ADRN.org. Additional updates on ADRN’s response to this disaster will be posted on the ADRN.org website and on social media channels at @ADRNTX.
