Executive Director Update -- Staying encouraged and engaged
Dear Friend,
The beginning of each new year always gives us occasion to reflect on the previous year.
Did we accomplish all that we hoped we would? Perhaps a family struggle or financial challenge comes to mind. For some, the disappointment of dreams that didn’t come to fruition, or grief over the loss of a loved one may still linger. As I make my way into 2024, I have reflected on some of those same thoughts.
But I am encouraged and comforted in remembering that one thing never changes from one year to the next: Emmanuel…God with us.
We are never alone in anything– not our failures, struggles, losses or victories. Jesus promised, “I will never leave you nor forsake you, “(Hebrews 13:5b). That is truly good news!
With that in mind, I want to challenge you to make it a priority to stay encouraged and stay engaged this year.
Read the entire letter here to see how.
Focusing on the one thing that never changes.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
-Hebrews 13:5b
Ways to Engage
Pray
Our first and most important response. Join us to pray for those suffering through crisis or loss; for the volunteer teams, first responders, and city officials; for local pastors and churches, and for everyone who is affected by the disaster.
Volunteer
Relevant, effective crisis response training equips our volunteers to offer physical, emotional, and spiritual care to those affected by disaster.
Support Hope Family Thrift Store
Your shopping, donations, and volunteer support helps ADRN in our mission to provide needed household items, clothing, and shoes to those affected by disaster in times of need.
Company Match
Many companies in the Austin area offer their employees matching funds for charitable donations made by volunteering their time, with some offering a dollar-for-dollar match.
Partner
Individuals as well as compassionate businesses and corporate partners provide invaluable assistance for survivors requiring long-term relief efforts.
