Hope Family Thrift Store #2

Serve Day

Volunteers worked hard this fall to get our second Hope Family Thrift Store (HFTS) location at 13801 Burnet Road in Austin ready to hope this fall.

While the HFTS East Austin location at 1221 East 51st Street will remain open, the new center on Burnet Road will provide more space for the store and expand Austin Disaster Relief Network’s office space. At 42,000 square feet, the new location will be a one-stop shop for disaster survivors.

“This disaster assistance center will help us meet survivors’ needs. We’ll not only have a thrift store where the citizens of Greater Austin can shop and purchase some amazing items, but we’ll be able to store supplies and goods for survivors when they need them,” said Daniel Geraci, ADRN Founder and Executive Director.

“This center will help millions of people in Greater Austin and around the nation,” he continued. “God has powerfully used this network, and we now have a place to encourage other cities to become catastrophic-ready as they see what God is doing in Greater Austin.”

Earlier this month, volunteers helped paint, clean, and make minor renovations to the center. A second serve day is scheduled for October 29 from 9 am to 1 pm at the Burnet location. Volunteers can sign up at Serve Saturday

The Hope Family Thrift Store has been a mainstay in East Austin for the past eight years serving more than 13,000 shoppers. It also offers disaster survivors free clothes, shoes, and goods as they recover from a tragedy. Since the Thrift Store opened, it has provided more than $1 million toward ADRN’s mission.
