Austin, Texas, February 7, 2023 – The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) will join multiple other local organizations at a Multi-Agency Resource Center for residents impacted by last week’s winter storm. ADRN volunteers will be on hand to help those in need to sign up for help with fallen trees, branches, and other storm debris.
“The storm was devastating for many of our neighbors in the Greater Austin region, particularly those with limited finances or physical challenges,” said ADRN Associate Director Stephen Brewer. “ADRN is honored to support those in need and serve our city.”
The Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be hosted by Austin Public Health and is scheduled for the following locations:
- Wednesday, February 8, from 3 pm to 8 pm, at the Montopolis Recreation and Community Center at 1200 Montopolis Drive
- Thursday, February 9, from 3 pm to 8 pm, at the North YMCA at 1000 W. Rundberg Lane
- Friday, February 10, from 9 am to 7 pm, at the Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez Street
- Saturday, February 11, from 10 am to 4 pm, at the Austin Community College Riverside Campus, 1020 Grove Blvd.
Since the ice melted, ADRN has received more than 1,500 requests for cleanup assistance from around the five-county region (Travis, Hays, Williamson, Caldwell, and Bastrop counties). Volunteer teams from local churches and other organizations have been forming and responding to these needs throughout the weekend and will continue to offer help as they are available.
