Austin, Texas, February 2, 2023 – Following this week’s winter storm, many Bastrop County residents have to deal with fallen trees, branches, and other debris caused by the ice accumulation. Local churches in the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) are now organizing volunteer teams to help people with physical and financial limitations as they clean up their properties.
“This network of Greater Austin churches exists to serve our neighbors during a crisis like this storm,” said Stephen Brewer, ADRN Associate Director. “We’re honored and delighted to help people who need assistance to clean up the damage the ice leaves behind. As cleanup requests come in, we’ll work with church leaders to form volunteer teams and fan out across the region in the coming days and weeks.”
Residents in Travis, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, and Williamson counties who need cleanup help can submit a request at link.adrn.org/ws-cleanup-request or go to ADRN’s website for information at ADRN.org. Volunteer teams from local churches will receive that information and coordinate with residents to help with the work.
