AUSTIN DISASTER RELIEF NETWORK WILL SUPPORT BELL COUNTY TORNADO SURVIVORS THROUGH CTX TORNADOES RELIEF FUND

Austin, Texas, April 13, 2022 – Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) will channel resources through its Central Texas Tornadoes Relief Fund to support those impacted by last night’s tornado near Salado. ADRN leaders are in contact with local officials and organizations in Bell County to assess the damage and find out what the residents need, but they already know that several homes have been completely destroyed.

“Our hearts break for our neighbors in the Salado area who are going through so much loss,” said Executive Director Daniel Geraci. “We want to give the community an opportunity to support these families on their road to recovery in addition to helping our neighbors in Round Rock, Elgin, and other communities. With so many people in Central Texas hurting after last night’s tornado and the tornadoes just a few weeks ago, now is the time for the Greater Austin community to rally around them and help them recover and rebuild what these storms have destroyed.”

ADRN’s Central Texas Tornadoes Relief Fund was created following the outbreak of tornadoes on March 21, and will support long–term recovery efforts like home repairs, vehicle replacement, and rebuilding houses. More than 1,100 homes and buildings were damaged or destroyed by the storms a few weeks ago, and last night’s tornado in Bell County has only increased the need for support. Donors who want to support Bell County residents specifically can write “Bell County Tornado” in the comments of their online donation or on the memo line of their check.

DONATE TO THE CENTRAL TEXAS TORNADOES RELIEF FUND
ADRN has teamed up with Tito’s Handmade Vodka to raise $2.5 million in tornado relief in 25 days. The campaign ends on May 6 and will support the long–term repair and rebuilding efforts for residents after their homes were damaged or destroyed by the recent storms. After meeting with tornado survivors in recent weeks, ADRN leaders estimate at least $2.5 million in financial needs as people recover from the tornado damage. So far, the fund has raised about $240,000. Donations to the Relief Fund can be made at adrn.org/helpctx. Businesses and foundations who want to support the effort with matching funds can contact the Donor Ministries department at dm@adrntx.org.
