When God calls, how far are you willing to go?
Two men took this challenge and ran…literally! They put their fitness to the ultimate test for the Lord running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours to raise money for ADRN’s Winter Storm Relief Fund.
Travis McCormick and Kory Curtis’s passion for health advocacy and living play a part in everything they do. They spent the last few years training for an Ironman Triathlon and a 100-Mile Ultra Marathon. Sadly, like many plans in 2020, these races fell through due to COVID-19. In light of these major disappointments, they decided to take on an astounding new challenge.
Travis and Kory heard of a new sort of endurance test created by a navy seal: a 4 mile run every four hours for 48 hours! Their intense training regimen of physical strength and mental might inspired the duo to use this challenge as an opportunity to help their community.
They witnessed their ATX community in critical need following February’s winter storm and saw a perfect opportunity to make a difference. So they set their sights on raising $448.00 for ADRN through this 4 x 4 x 48 running challenge. The more miles they ran, the more support they received from donors. A weary Travis and Kory crossed the finish line pushing their bodies to the very limit. Their community met this accomplishment with an incredible feat of their own raising over $1,200!
