July Update
Help us reach our $25,000 July fundraising goal to be ready to respond 365 days a year!
It’s been one year since the devastating July 4th floods swept through local communities, taking precious lives, destroying homes, and leaving miles of destruction behind in just a matter of hours.
And for some survivors, the recovery continues to this day.
I spent a recent Saturday with a survivor who is still working to clean up her property. Before our team arrived to serve her that morning, she had been rushing around trying to make room for the placement of a dumpster to hold more debris from the flood.
In the middle of it all, perhaps anxious about what we might think when we arrived, she said these heartbreaking words: “Please don’t give up on me. I am trying.”
Can you imagine if every person in crisis had the hope of knowing that their community would not give up on them?
With your help, we can be ready to respond 365 days a year with the love of Jesus–as well as with emergency supplies, gift cards, Bibles, and other essentials to help survivors in their time of greatest need.
Please give generously today to raise $25,000 to help bring lasting hope to survivors who are rebuilding their lives, and others who will need to know that someone cares when disaster strikes.
SPECIAL UPDATE
A very special update–one year in the making–for another flood survivor and her son, who lives with a disability:
After the floods, their home was uninhabitable. By September, Marie was battling ongoing health issues, in and out of the hospital, and unsure where to turn. “At that point, I felt like giving up,” she shares.
Then Marie met Sara, an ADRN volunteer in Sandy Creek. “Sara continued to check on us, advocate for us, and guide us through the recovery process,” Marie adds. “She helped me understand that I deserve help, too.”
Because of the generosity of friends like you, the house that could not be saved is being replaced with a safe new home this month!
With tears of joy, “Marie shares,“For my son and me, that means more than walls and a roof. It means security, stability, and peace of mind.”
Disclaimer: Gifts to ADRN for a specific disaster response will be used as designated. If a specific disaster response becomes overfunded and identified needs have been addressed, the ADRN Board of Directors will redirect your gift to a similar response effort. All other gifts to ADRN are unrestricted and may be used for any purpose consistent with the mission and vision of ADRN.
Our mission is to glorify Christ by equipping, empowering, and mobilizing volunteers, churches, and like-hearted organizations to shepherd people affected by disaster and meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
