NOTE: Applications and References Due June 9, 2017 (see below for details).
ADRN Chaplaincy Academy provides training to those who feel called to a ministry in Crisis Chaplaincy. The academy provides the chaplain candidate knowledge and skills to support, encourage, and bless people in crisis through a ministry of presence in order to impact lives during this difficult time. ADRN Chaplains have been deployed to disaster sites, hospitals, Red Cross shelters and more.
The academy consists of 30 hours (three 10 hour sessions) of Chaplaincy Training typically held one Saturday a month for 3 consecutive months. Training dates are established and dependent on a minimum number of candidates completing the pre-requisite and qualification process. Dates will be set and candidates will be notified regarding how to register and pay online once the minimum number of qualified applicants have been verified.
Christ calls us to be His hands and feet in times of disaster by loving those who have been impacted much like the way the Good Samaritan loved and cared for the man who was left to die after being beaten and robbed. One way to express this love is by becoming an ADRN Chaplain.
ADRN Chaplains must be “Spirit Called” to the position of Chaplain. Potential applicants are required to complete an ADRN chaplain application, provide 3 spiritual, 3 personal, 1 family reference/s, and participate in an interview, before the candidate will be permitted to register, online, for the Academy.
Course Date: Fall 2017 ( TBD )
Application and Reference Deadline Dates ( Qualification Process, see below )

After pre-requisites are met there is a step-by-step process to get pre-qualified to register for the academy. It is important the pre-requisites are met before applying. It is also important to complete the following steps in the specific order listed for the qualification process to proceed smoothly. If the steps are not followed sequentially it increases the risk you will have to wait for the next academy due to confusion, miscommunication or missed deadlines, pre-requisites and/or other requirements.
2. Provide three (3) spiritual references and three (3) personal references and (1) family reference (see below for details). Guidelines for the reference letters are provided. Each reference letter should prominently indicate whether it is a spiritual, personal or family reference in the subject of the e-mail.
REFERENCE LETTERS – HELPFUL TIPS
3 Spiritual References – Please contact pastors, clergy, church staff, or other spiritual leader in your life. Ask them to email their recommendation letter to email@example.com. Ask them to state the type of reference, tell us how long they have known you and in what capacity, why they think you would be a good candidate to be a Chaplain, and how they see the Lord using you as a Chaplain.
3 Personal (Non-Family)/Business References – Please contact friends, and/or business associates. Ask them to email their recommendation letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. Ask them to state the type of reference, tell us how long they have known you and in what capacity, why they think you would be a good candidate to be a chaplain, and how they see the Lord using you as a Chaplain.
1 Family Reference – Please contact a family member and ask them to email their recommendation letter to email@example.com. Ask them to state the type of reference, tell us how they are related, why they think you would be a good candidate to be a chaplain, and how they see the Lord using you as a Chaplain.
Note: The recommendations need to be emailed directly to firstname.lastname@example.org from your references – NOT through you, the candidate.
3. Submit a passport style photo.
4. Participate in a personal interview. After the Chaplain Core Team has received your application, your 3 personal/business references, your 3 spiritual references, and your 1 family reference, you will be invited to participate in an interview with the Chaplain Core Team.
5. Register for Chaplain Training (3 Sessions). Once we have received a minimum of qualified applicants we will schedule the Chaplain Training Academy. You will then be invited to prepay and register online. Pre-payment is required to reserve your place in the training. If you prefer to pay for the entire academy and receive a discount email Sharon@adrntx.org.
The ADRN Chaplain Academy must be completed in its entirety to receive a certificate of any kind. If a candidate misses any of the three 10 hour sessions they may not proceed in the current academy. They will need to wait and attend the next available academy in its entirety. This requirement ensures the quality of the training remains intact since the topics are taught in varying order in each academy depending on the schedules and availability of the trainers and professional chaplains who assist the ADRN Chaplain Core Team with the training.
