DRS (Disaster Relief Shepherd) Training – Course Time 3 hours:  The Disaster Relief Shepherd (DRS) is one of  the most important leadership positions that a volunteer can fulfill within their church in times of disaster. The DRS role is to to walk along-side a family, that has potentially lost everything, who needs a Good Samaritan to walk with them through the process of recovery, until their feet are back on the ground. This training will equip ‘shepherds’ with the skills, knowledge, and plan to provide immediate and long-term assistance, that enables the survivor to re-establish a viable lifestyle. This position does not require that the shepherd make any personal financial investment or invite surviving families into their home. This training is FREE. Walking in the Spirit in Times of Disaster Part 1/3

ADRN Headquarters, 1122 E. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723 Tuesdays October 6 & 27 (skip 13 & 20) and November 5 (skip Nov. 3 – Election Day) Course Time: 9 hours – Must complete all 3 sessions to receive credit for course Click to register  Walking in the Spirit in Times of Disaster:  This course is designed to remove any mystery behind walking in the Spirit and give practical steps in how to do so, especially in times of crisis.  Areas of focus will be: practicing the fruits of the spirit, agreeing and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and what it means to walk, live and be led by the Holy Spirit.  We will also consider our current challenges as humans and how to overcome through His grace; and there will be lots of practice time. When you live stream you will need to complete a test by 5:00 PM the Thursday following at the end of each session to receive credit for the course.

American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED – Adult/Child/Infant

Location: Grace Covenant Church, 9341 Jollyville Road, Austin, TX 78759 Saturday, September 26, 8:45AM-5:00PM Course Time 8 hours: Participants will be able to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The program teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Students who successfully complete 8 hours of training and successfully demonstrate skills will receive a certificate from American Red Cross for CPR/First Aid/AED – Adult/Child/Infant which will be valid for two years. Conflict Resolution in Times of Crisis Training – Part 3 Virtual Simulation August 18, 2020, 6:30PM-9:30PM Live Streamed Virtual Simulation with Daniel Geraci This is a virtual simulation to complete Part 3 of Conflict Resolution. You are eligible to participate in this simulation once you’ve completed Part 1 & 2 of Conflict Resolution videos and achieved 70% or better on each of the quizzes. Once you’ve met Part 1 & 2 requirements and register for the simulation you will receive an email invitation giving you instruction how to join the virtual simulation. When you successfully complete Part 3, the simulation, your training profile will indicate you have completed the course.
