26-hour training | 4 Nights of  ZOOM Training and two Saturdays for Skills Practice and Simulation Location: You will be sent a ZOOM link Course Dates: September 19, 22, 26, & 29 - 6:30PM-9:00PM (September 19, 6:00PM - 9:00PM for intro and acclimation) and Saturday, October 1, 8:00AM-5:00PM for Skills Practice and October 8, 8:00AM-3:00PM,  Simulation ADRN CERT Training is a 6-day, FEMA-backed, and nationally recognized course that will equip and train you in the essentials of disaster preparedness for your local community. You will learn Fire Safety, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Medical Operations & Psychology, Terrorism, and experience a Disaster Simulation. This is an excellent course and well worth the time invested in it! You will be able to use the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, to assist others in your neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.  You will need to bring a sack lunch on Saturday, October 1 & 8. Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Training Friday, September 30, 6:00PM-10:00PM & Saturday, October 1, 8:00AM-6:00PM (14 hour training) Location Grace Covenant Church (tentative) ADRN highly recommends this internationally recognized training for volunteers who are called to help people in times of crisis and/or called to the mission field. This training will equip participants to deal with the mental, emotional, and spiritual issues most people encounter in times of disaster, including trauma, learning debriefing techniques, and much more. The CISM Core Team (certified CISM Instructors) instructs this class. All participants will receive a certification of completion in Disaster Psychological 1st Aid and CISM/CISD (Critical Incident Stress Management/Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) after completing 6 hours of course time, then participating in a 3-hour Simulation. 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM SKILLS PRACTICE on Saturday,  October 1, 2022 - closing with Q & A and Debrief Location Jollyville Fire Department (tentative) There is no cost for this portion of the training - There is an opportunity to give a love offering to support the efforts of the CERT Team by providing materials and equipment. CERT+ Skills Practice Description – This is an opportunity for the student to exhibit skills learned from the classroom training in a supervised setting emphasizing safety practices in lifts and carries, triage, fire safety, search and rescue, basic first aid, and more. This gives the student opportunity to hone skills, ask questions, and prepare for the CERT Simulation. This takes place on a designated Saturday from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM between the CERT+ On-Demand Training cut-off and before the CERT Simulation. You will need to register for CERT Skills Practice after completing CERT+ On Demand. PURCHASE A CERT PPE (Personal Preparedness Equipment) you will need in skills practice, the simulation, and will want to keep in your vehicle after the training. The program teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. 4 hour training | November 5 | 9:00AM - 1:00PM Riverbend Church, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX 78746 Training is FREE! DAT is the tip of the spear in disaster response. DAT teams are ADRN’s first boots on the ground in the disaster field. They identify the area and degree of destruction. Their assessments provide leadership with the critical information necessary to properly deploy resources and volunteers. This training will cover spiritual readiness for first response; disaster assessment procedures, roles and challenges; safety and typical hazards encountered; and a practice disaster assessment. To qualify for DAT designation, participants must be CERT or ham radio trained, 21 years old, and in good physical condition. Others not presently qualified may participate to receive DAT designation upon completing prerequisite training. REGISTER HERE
