Location: 802 Meadowcreek Drive, Pfugerville, TX 78660 Training dates are Wednesdays starting August 4 and ending September 8 - 6:30PM-8:30PM  Preparedness Peace covers topics of: Why Prepare, Teamwork and the Power of a Plan, How to be Water Wise and Food Sense, Power Alley, Having a Safe Home, About Grab & Go Bags, and Establishing Home Security. What you will accomplish by the end of Preparedness Peace is family plans and documents, safe home assessment, lighting and energy plans for power outage, evacuation plans with maps and routes, minimum three day food and water storage, car kit, home emergency supplies established, grab and go bags, shelter-in-place room and supplies and spiritual preparedness. The manual includes grab & go bag information, car and preparedness checklist, and more. This class is open to anyone that wants whether you are a member of this church or not. Location: ADRN Headquarters, 1122 E. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723 Saturday,  August 21, 8:45AM-5:00PM Course Time 8 hours: Participants will be able to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The program teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Students who successfully complete 8 hours of training and successfully demonstrate skills will receive a certificate from American Red Cross for CPR/First Aid/AED – Adult/Child/Infant which will be valid for two years. (RC Level 2). Training Cost is $95 50% Scholarships available for full-time students and those impacted by financial hardships.  Click here to apply for a scholarship. Followed by Skills Practice/Evaluation on Saturday, October 30, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Simulation on Saturday, November 6, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Jollyville Fire Deparmtent There is no cost to take this training - There will be an opportunity to give a love offering. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classroom training is now On Demand!  Do this 12-hour FEMA online training in the comfort of your home and on your schedule, instead of carving out 5-6 specific nights to attend on site.  To complete the 28-hour FEMA requirement, ADRN offers a unique 2.5 hour Spiritual Training component, a 8-hr on-site Skills Practice/ Evaluation, and a 8-hr Simulation on two consecutive Saturdays.  Some of the topics covered include: Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Medical Operations, Disaster Psychology, Fire Safety, Light Search and Rescue, and Terrorism and so much more! IMT (Incident Management Team) Training - Course Time 5 hours: The Incident Management Team (IMT) is a key leadership team composed of experienced and trained volunteers that ADRN relies on in times of deployment. The role of an IMT member is to assist with the planning and management of ADRN deployments of both ADRN badged volunteers and community volunteers. These deployments are in times of disaster preparedness, such as simulation, and times of disaster response. ADRN goal is to have a deep bench of trained IMT members across all 12 sectors of the ADRN 5-County region. The IMT training will provide a refresher on the Incident Command System (ICS) and a focused discussion on how ADRN utilizes the ICS to achieve the assigned operational objective (e.g., CISM debriefing at an intake center or door-to-door; muck-out/clean-out, donations management, etc) in a God-honoring manner. Following completion of the IMT training, and certification as a member of the IMT, opportunities will be made available to practice the IMT skills through the use of disaster simulations. 26 hour training | 6 Nights of Training and a Saturday for Simulation Location TBD Course Dates: October 4, 6:00PM-10:00PM (to complete registration), October 7, 11, 14, 18 & 21 - 6:30PM-10:00PM and Saturday, October 23, 8:00AM-2:00PM (26 hours training - includes breaks) There is no cost to take this training -There will be an opportunity to give a love offering. ADRN CERT Training is a 7-day, FEMA backed, and nationally recognized course that will equip and train you in the essentials of disaster preparedness for your local community. You will learn Fire Safety, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Medical Operations & Psychology, Terrorism and experience a Disaster Simulation. This is an excellent course and well worth the time invested in it! You will be able to use the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, to assist others in your neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.  You will need to bring a sack lunch on Saturday. This training will equip participants to deal with the mental, emotional and spiritual issues most people encounter in times of disaster, including trauma, learning debriefing techniques and much more. The CISM Core Team (certified CISM Instructors) instructs this class. All participants will receive a certification of completion in Disaster Psychological 1st Aid and CISM/CISD (Critical Incident Stress Management/Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) after completing 6 hours of course time then participating in a 3 hour Simulation. CERT Skills Practice Description – This is an opportunity for the student to exhibit skills learned from the classroom training in a supervised setting emphasizing safety practices in lifts and carries, triage, fire safety, search and rescue, basic first aid and more. This gives the student opportunity to hone skills, ask questions, and prepare for the CERT Simulation. This takes place on a designated Saturday from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM between CERT On Demand Training cut off and before the CERT Simulation. You will need to register for CERT Skills Practice after completing CERT On Demand. PURCHASE A CERT PPE (Personal Preparedness Equipment) you will need in skills practice, the simulation, and will want to keep in your vehicle after the training. There will be a debrief at the end with opportunity for Q & A. 4 hour training - 9:00AM - 1:00PM Riverbend Church in Quad 3, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX 78746 Training is FREE! DAT is the tip of the spear in disaster response. DAT teams are ADRN’s first boots on the ground in the disaster field. They identify the area and degree of destruction. Their assessments provide leadership with the critical information necessary to properly deploy resources and volunteers. This training will cover spiritual readiness for first response; disaster assessment procedures, roles and challenges; safety and typical hazards encountered; and a practice disaster assessment. To qualify for DAT designation, participants must be CERT or ham radio trained, 21 years old, and in good physical condition.
