Preparedness Peace Training – Living Waters Fly Fishing

The DRS's role is to walk alongside a family, that has potentially lost everything, and who needs a Good Samaritan to walk with them through the process of recovery until their feet are back on the ground. This training will equip ‘shepherds’ with the skills, knowledge, and plan to provide immediate and long-term assistance, that enables the survivor to re-establish a viable lifestyle. IMT – Incident Management Team Training

IMT (Incident Management Team) Training - Course Time 5 hours: The Incident Management Team (IMT) is a key leadership team composed of experienced and trained volunteers that ADRN relies on in times of deployment. The role of an IMT member is to assist with the planning and management of ADRN deployments of both ADRN badged volunteers and community volunteers. These deployments are in times of disaster preparedness, such as simulation, and times of disaster response. ADRN goal is to have a deep bench of trained IMT members across all 12 sectors of the ADRN 5-County region. The IMT training will provide a refresher on the Incident Command System (ICS) and a focused discussion on how ADRN utilizes the ICS to achieve the assigned operational objective (e.g., CISM debriefing at an intake center or door-to-door; muck-out/clean-out, donations management, etc) in a God-honoring manner. 4 hour training | July 16 | 9:00AM - 1:00PM Riverbend Church, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX 78746 Training is FREE! DAT is the tip of the spear in disaster response. DAT teams are ADRN’s first boots on the ground in the disaster field. They identify the area and degree of destruction. Their assessments provide leadership with the critical information necessary to properly deploy resources and volunteers. This training will cover spiritual readiness for first response; disaster assessment procedures, roles and challenges; safety and typical hazards encountered; and a practice disaster assessment. To qualify for DAT designation, participants must be CERT or ham radio trained, 21 years old, and in good physical condition. Find out more »DAT – Disaster Assessment Team Training
4 hour training | October 8 | 9:00AM - 1:00PM Riverbend Church, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, TX 78746 Training is FREE! DAT is the tip of the spear in disaster response. DAT teams are ADRN’s first boots on the ground in the disaster field. They identify the area and degree of destruction. Their assessments provide leadership with the critical information necessary to properly deploy resources and volunteers. This training will cover spiritual readiness for first response; disaster assessment procedures, roles and challenges; safety and typical hazards encountered; and a practice disaster assessment. To qualify for DAT designation, participants must be CERT or ham radio trained, 21 years old, and in good physical condition. Others not presently qualified may participate to receive DAT designation upon completing prerequisite training. REGISTER HERE
Find out more »American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED – Adult/Child/Infant
Location: ADRN Headquarters, 1122 E. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723 Saturday, 8:45AM-5:00PM Course Time 8 hours: Participants will be able to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. The program teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Students who successfully complete 8 hours of training and successfully demonstrate skills will receive a certificate from the American Red Cross for CPR/First Aid/AED – Adult/Child/Infant which will be valid for two years. (RC Level 2). Training Cost is $95 50% Scholarships are available for full-time students and those impacted by financial hardships. Click here to apply for a scholarship.
