Nearly one year ago, Gloria Gonzales found her house in flames upon arriving home from work. As she waited for the firefighters to arrive, Maria tried to fight the fire herself with the garden hose.
“The water hose was all tangled up and I was screaming to my neighbor to help me!” Gloria recalls.
Unfortunately, the house was destroyed before the fire department was able to put it out. And although she lost three puppies in the fire, she’s grateful for what she didn’t lose.
“We lost a lot. We lost everything, but we’re still here,” Gloria said. “We just need to have faith and see what God does for us.”
Gloria and her family are living in a borrowed RV trailer as they wait to rebuild their home. Her husband, a construction worker, has a crew ready to help them rebuild, they simply need building materials donated in order to begin the process.
With most of our funds for disaster relief going toward those impacted by COVID-19 this past year, ADRN has not been able to donate building materials to the Garcia family.
These are trying times for many, but we know God has good plans for Gloria and her family. If you’d like to help the Garcia’s rebuild their home by hosting a fundraiser or donating supplies, contact the ADRN Shepherd Department.
