Celtic Cross Bowl of Spalted Pecan

From 55Grit Woodworks (55Grit.com), this Celtic Cross Bowl was handcrafted by Derry Cannon from a single piece of spalted pecan. Spalting enhances the organic nature of wood and occurs when it remains in its natural environment after falling, cracking in the temperature fluctuations and taking on other imperfections. The cross in the center is inlaid with crushed jasper and the cracks filled with black epoxy to provide stability and accentuate the bowl’s overall ancient feel.

The bowl measures 21″ in diameter and 7″ in depth, with an interior depth of 5.5″ and is signed by the craftsman.
