Areas of focus will be: practicing the fruits of the spirit, agreeing and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and what it means to walk, live and be led by the Holy Spirit. We will also consider our current challenges as humans and how to overcome through His grace; and there will be lots of practice time.Find out more »
May 23 - Training is FREE | 3 hours | 6:30PM-9:30PM Bastrop Christian Outreach Center, 1096 TX-71, Bastrop, TX 78602 Every new volunteer who wants to join the ADRN network is required to take this 3hr class to give you an introduction to ADRN, information about ADRN training, a training roadmap for volunteers, badging/credentials, how emergency response works in Greater Austin and CERT individual/family preparedness training. Disaster Relief Shepherd Training (DRS Training) @ ADRN Headquarters Conference Room May 24 @ 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm Disaster Relief Shepherd (DRS) Training Location: ADRN Headquarters, 1122 E. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723 Training is FREE! DRS (Disaster Relief Shepherd) Training – Course Time 3.5 hours: The DRS is one of ADRN’s most important disaster relief roles a volunteer can play within their church in times of disaster. The DRS’s job is to walk alongside a family that has potentially lost everything and needs a ‘Good Samaritan’ to be there for them through the process of recovery until their feet are back on the ground. This role does not require you to take survivors into your home or provide financial assistance from your personal funds. This training will equip you with the skills, knowledge and plan to take care and provide extended assistance that cannot be given by the governments or international relief agencies. Preparedness Peace covers topics of: Why Prepare, Teamwork and the Power of a Plan, How to be Water Wise and Food Sense, Power Alley, Having a Safe Home, About Grab & Go Bags, and Establishing Home Security. What you will accomplish by the end of Preparedness Peace is family plans and documents, safe home assessment, lighting and energy plans for power outage, evacuation plans with maps and routes, minimum three day food and water storage, car kit, home emergency supplies established, grab and go bags, shelter-in-place room and supplies and spiritual preparedness. The manual includes grab & go bag information, car and preparedness checklist, and more. This class is open to anyone that wants to attend. 4 hour training | May 25 | 6:00PM - 10:00PM Training is FREE! DRC Training is for those interested in becoming a representative of their church to the Network, giving leadership to the ADRN volunteers within your church pre and post disaster. The DRC is also the main communicator within the church to inform church members and volunteers of up and coming trainings. The DRC’s main objective is to help their members and church to become ready in the event of a crisis through the guidance of ADRN. Every church on the network is required to minimally have two DRC’s. Database Training gives the DRC tools to access the ADRN Database for their church’s ADRN volunteer base along with useful tools to communicate with their team. Note: Most courses listed require volunteers to login. Login access is provided to our volunteers after completion of ADRN’s Orientation and Preparedness course. Online registration and payment for classes in advance can prevent an additional $25 administrative fee added to payments received at the door.
