Walking in the Compassion in Times of Disaster Week — Online Training February 20-26 at Take your time, enjoy this 9-hour training 24/7 in the comfort of your home! What would it look like for the Body of Christ to walk in the beauty of Christ’s compassion for the lost, hurting, desperate and needy in times of disaster?  In Luke 10, Jesus tells a story of the Good Samaritan and the Christ-like compassion this man had, willing to lay down his life to help his neighbor in times of great need.  He provided the basic essentials of physical needs, emotional needs and demonstrated Christ-like love to shine the light of the gospel upon the soul of the survivor.  Are you ready and prepared to do the same?  Are you able to sustain life as the hands and feet of Christ?  The goal of this training is to equip you in multiple ways to help you demonstrate the compassion of Christ in order to meet the needs of those affected by disaster. . Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Training Friday, February 25, 6:00PM-10:00PM & Saturday, February 26, 8:00AM-6:00PM (14 hour training) Location Grace Covenant Church (tentative) ADRN highly recommends this internationally recognized training for volunteers who are called to help people in times of crisis and/or called to the mission field. This training will equip participants to deal with the mental, emotional, and spiritual issues most people encounter in times of disaster, including trauma, learning debriefing techniques, and much more. The CISM Core Team (certified CISM Instructors) instructs this class. All participants will receive a certification of completion in Disaster Psychological 1st Aid and CISM/CISD (Critical Incident Stress Management/Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) after completing 6 hours of course time, then participating in a 3-hour Simulation. This training is also recommended for teens 16 years of age and above.   You will need to bring a sack lunch on Saturday.  Click on Training/Scholarships for more information.
