On Demand at your own pace from March 30 - June 9, 2022 Not on site - In your own home! Followed by Skills Practice/Evaluation on Saturday, June 11, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Simulation on Saturday, June 18, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Jollyville Fire Department There is no cost to take this training - There will be an opportunity to give a love offering. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classroom training is now On Demand! Do this 12-hour FEMA online training in the comfort of your home and on your schedule, instead of carving out 5-6 specific nights to attend on site. To complete the 28-hour FEMA requirement, ADRN offers a unique 2.5 hour Spiritual Training component, a 8-hr on-site Skills Practice/ Evaluation, and a 8-hr Simulation on two consecutive Saturdays. Some of the topics covered include: Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Medical Operations, Disaster Psychology, Fire Safety, Light Search and Rescue, and Terrorism and so much more! DRS (Disaster Relief Shepherd) Training – Course Time 2 hours: The Disaster Relief Shepherd (DRS) is one of the most important leadership positions that a volunteer can fulfill within their church in times of disaster. The DRS's role is to walk alongside a family, that has potentially lost everything, and who needs a Good Samaritan to walk with them through the process of recovery until their feet are back on the ground. This training will equip ‘shepherds’ with the skills, knowledge, and plan to provide immediate and long-term assistance, that enables the survivor to re-establish a viable lifestyle. This position does not require that the shepherd make any personal financial investment or invite surviving families into their homes. This training is FREE.
