Walking In The Compassion of Christ  Week of November 8-14 Course Time: 9 hours - Must complete all 3 modules to receive credit for course What would it look like for the Body of Christ to walk in the beauty of Christ’s compassion for the lost, hurting, desperate and needy in times of disaster?  In Luke 10, Jesus tells a story of the Good Samaritan and the Christ-like compassion this man had, willing to lay down his life to help his neighbor in times of great need.  He provided the basic essentials of physical needs, emotional needs and demonstrated Christ-like love to shine the light of the gospel upon the soul of the survivor.  Are you ready and prepared to do the same?  Are you able to sustain life as the hands and feet of Christ?  The goal of this training is to equip you in multiple ways to help you demonstrate the compassion of Christ in order to meet the needs of those affected by disaster. . DRS (Disaster Relief Shepherd) Training – Course Time 3 hours:  The Disaster Relief Shepherd (DRS) is one of  the most important leadership positions that a volunteer can fulfill within their church in times of disaster. The DRS role is to to walk along-side a family, that has potentially lost everything, who needs a Good Samaritan to walk with them through the process of recovery, until their feet are back on the ground. This training will equip ‘shepherds’ with the skills, knowledge, and plan to provide immediate and long-term assistance, that enables the survivor to re-establish a viable lifestyle. This position does not require that the shepherd make any personal financial investment or invite surviving families into their home. This training is FREE.
