Online Training | 6 Hours | Anytime June 9-23, Simulation June 26 & 27 Online Training in your home. ADRN highly recommends this internationally recognized training for volunteers who are called to help people in times of crisis and/or called to the mission field. This training will equip participants to deal with the mental, emotional and spiritual issues most people encounter in times of disaster, including trauma, learning debriefing techniques and much more. The CISM Core Team (certified CISM Instructors) instructs this class. All participants will receive a certification of completion in Disaster Psychological 1st Aid and CISM/CISD (Critical Incident Stress Management/Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) after completing 6 hours of course time then participating in a 3 hour Simulation. This training is also recommended for teens 16 years of age and above. You will need to bring a sack lunch on Saturday. Click on Training/Scholarships for more information. IS-100 & IS-700 FEMA Overview & Test ADRN Headquarters, 1122 E. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723 9:30AM - 10:30AM -- IS-100 is a FEMA course that introduces how volunteers to the Incident Command System (ICS) that FEMA and local governments work within and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). 11:00AM - 12:00PM -- IS-700 introduces and overviews the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents and describes the purpose of the NIMS Components including: Preparedness, Communications and Information Management, Resource Management, and Command and Management and then describes the purpose of the National Integration Center. Note: Most courses listed require volunteers to login. Login access is provided to our volunteers after completion of ADRN’s Orientation and Preparedness course. Online registration and payment for classes in advance can prevent an additional $25 administrative fee added to payments received at the door.
