2 Day Course | 14 Hours | Friday, Nov 8, 6PM-10PM & Saturday, Nov 9, 8AM-6PM Location - Life Church, 1393 E. Woodview, Leander, TX 78641 ADRN highly recommends this internationally recognized training for volunteers who are called to help people in times of crisis and/or called to the mission field. This training will equip participants to deal with the mental, emotional and spiritual issues most people encounter in times of disaster, including trauma, learning debriefing techniques and much more. The CISM Core Team (certified CISM Instructors) instructs this class. All participants will receive a certification of completion in Disaster Psychological 1st Aid and CISM/CISD (Critical Incident Stress Management/Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) after completing 14 hours of course time. This training is also recommended for teens 16 years of age and above. You will need to bring a sack lunch on Saturday. Scholarships are available to those challenged by financial hardship. Training is $35 prepaid online before October 3 & $45 at the door thereafter. Location: Pflugerville Community Church, 1412 Pfenning, Pflugerville, Tx 78660 (South Classroom Bldg., B) Training dates are October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2 & 9, 10:00AM-NOON Preparedness Peace covers topics of: Why Prepare, Teamwork and the Power of a Plan, How to be Water Wise and Food Sense, Power Alley, Having a Safe Home, About Grab & Go Bags, and Establishing Home Security. What you will accomplish by the end of Preparedness Peace is family plans and documents, safe home assessment, lighting and energy plans for power outage, evacuation plans with maps and routes, minimum three day food and water storage, car kit, home emergency supplies established, grab and go bags, shelter-in-place room and supplies and spiritual preparedness. The manual includes grab & go bag information, car and preparedness checklist, and more. This class is open to anyone that wants whether you are a member of this church or not.
