Assistance for Eastland Complex Fire Press Release – 3/19/22

AUSTIN DISASTER RELIEF NETWORK SENDING EMERGENCY SUPPLIES AND FUNDS TO RESIDENTS IMPACTED BY EASTLAND COMPLEX FIRE

Austin, Texas, March 19, 2022 – Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) will deliver hygiene kits and emergency funds in the form of gift cards to wildfire survivors in Eastland, Texas today. The Eastland Complex Fire continues to rage in the area, burning more than 45,000 acres so far. ADRN leaders are in close coordination with the United Rescue Alliance to distribute items to families who’ve lost their homes or have been displaced by evacuation orders.

“We’re getting emergency supplies into the hands of our neighbors going through this crisis as quickly as we can,” said ADRN Executive Director Daniel Geraci. “For families who’ve just lost their homes, having simple things like toothbrushes and the ability to buy personal items can mean the difference between hope and despair. When we put these supplies in their hands, we let them know they’re not alone, that God is with them, and we’re here with His love to help them move forward.”

Support for people impacted by the Eastland Complex Fires will come from ADRN’s General Disaster Fund. Donations to this fund can be made online at adrn.org/give with the designation “Eastland Complex Fire” in the comments or memo line.

ADRN, a network of Greater Austin churches, is in communication with officials and leaders in the Eastland region to monitor needs and respond as requests come in for support. Volunteers and staff from ADRN provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support for disaster survivors in the moments following a disaster and throughout the entire recovery process until families get back into safe and clean homes.
ADRN will provide updates at adrn.org/eastlandfire as the situation continues to develop.
